Vintage watch restoration

An inherited or well-loved watch deserves a considered approach. The aim is to balance reliable use, original character, parts availability, and what the watch means to you.

Request a preliminary review

Start with a description and photos. Repairs require your approval.

Vintage watch considered for preservation-minded restoration

Begin with the outcome you want

Tell me whether you want the watch running again, a specific fault repaired, or cosmetic work considered. A daily wearer and a family keepsake can call for different decisions. Share any history, previous repairs, or known modifications.

Preserve character where practical

Dials, hands, cases, crowns, and finishes are reviewed before cosmetic changes. Polishing, refinishing, or visible replacements can alter originality. We discuss these choices before work, and the approved estimate defines the scope.

Make a repair decision with clear information

Age, corrosion, unavailable parts, and earlier repairs can limit the result. Detailed evaluation may be needed before the work can be quoted. Any evaluation fee is confirmed in advance under the service policy. You decide whether the proposed restoration makes sense.

Repair and authentication are different services

Restoration addresses agreed mechanical or cosmetic work. If your question is whether a watch is consistent with its claimed identity, request the separate authentication service. A functioning movement or compatible serial number does not by itself establish authenticity.

The preliminary review of your description and photos is free. Physical inspection, detailed evaluation, shipping, and any approved work may carry fees. Read the inspection and estimate policy. Please wait for a reply and an agreed shipping plan before sending your watch.
