About & heritage · The Campbell family

A family name.
A tradition of service.

From a watch and jewelry business in Canandaigua to two generations of military service, the Campbell story is a personal one.

L.M. Campbell today

A personal approach to watch service.

L.M. Campbell, LLC. is an independent watch-service business based in Houston, carrying forward the name of my family’s watch and jewelry shop in Canandaigua, New York.

I keep the business small so you deal directly with me. I explain the work, cost and any changes that could affect your watch’s originality. If a repair looks too costly for the result, I’ll tell you.

Mail-in service begins with a free preliminary review. You receive a written quote and approve the work before repairs begin.

A grandfather’s service

Malcolm Campbell

My grandfather, Malcolm, served as a major in the U.S. Army Air Corps, working as an aerial photographer.

His portrait and the newspaper clippings below preserve part of that story, from his commission in 1942 to news of his promotion while serving in England.

The call to serve.

“Malcolm Campbell Given Commission” announces his commission as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army Air Corps, with orders to report to the Officers’ Training School in Miami Beach on June 27.

The report also notes his studies at Canandaigua Academy and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and his work in business with his father.

News from England.

“Lieut. M. P. Campbell Gets Captain’s Bars” reports his promotion to captain while stationed with Army Air Force headquarters in England.

A year overseas, training in Miami Beach, Harrisburg and Washington, D.C., and news sent home to his family: a glimpse of his service before he attained the rank of major.

Another generation in uniform

Mark Campbell

I served in the U.S. Air Force as a staff sergeant in Air Transportation, specialty code 2T2X1.

My grandfather and I served in different roles and different eras. That shared connection to military service remains an important part of our family’s story—and of the person behind L.M. Campbell today.

Carrying the name forward.

The L.M. Campbell name began with my great-grandfather, Leroy Miles Campbell, and the family’s watch and jewelry business in Canandaigua, New York. Today, L.M. Campbell, LLC carries that family name into a new chapter of watch service and restoration as a service-disabled veteran-owned small business.
