Mechanical watch repair

A watch that stops, loses time, or no longer holds its wind needs a careful assessment. I review the movement, explain the options, and obtain your approval before repairs begin.

Request a preliminary review

Start with a description and photos. Repairs require your approval.

Mechanical watch movement during service

What a movement overhaul involves

The scope depends on the watch and its condition. An overhaul may include disassembly, cleaning, inspection for wear, appropriate lubrication, reassembly, adjustment, and functional checks. Parts needs are discussed when they affect the work or price.

Describe what has changed

Tell me whether the watch is automatic or hand-wound, when the issue started, how it behaves after winding, and when it was last serviced. Include any drop, moisture exposure, or previous repair. If you do not know the model or history, say so.

Repair cost and parts availability

An accurate repair quote depends on the movement, wear, previous work, and available parts. A symptom alone does not establish which repair is needed. I will explain the proposed work and expected timing after inspection.

A repair with a defined scope

The completed work carries the 12-month limited service warranty, subject to its terms. Older watches can retain limitations caused by age or unrelated wear. Water resistance requires an appropriate current assessment; an overhaul alone is not a water-resistance guarantee.

The preliminary review of your description and photos is free. Physical inspection, detailed evaluation, shipping, and any approved work may carry fees. Read the inspection and estimate policy. Please wait for a reply and an agreed shipping plan before sending your watch.
